The government is actively considering removing the provision that requires international passengers to upload their Covid vaccine certificate or report their negative RT-PCR on the Air Suvidha portal before flying to India. However, official sources told PTI it will continue to carry out the existing task of filling out the online self-declaration form on the portal.
The sources said passengers have complained about the portal crashing periodically, difficulty accessing forms and uploading certificates, adding that removing this provision could give them some relief.
“The Department of Civil Aviation recently sought input from the Union Health Ministry to remove the provision requiring international passengers to upload COVID-19 vaccine certificate or RT-PCR negative report of Air Suvidha One source said there was inconvenience faced by tourists.
“The Ministry of Health has made its decision,” the source added.
