Social media is sharing the following reaction Spotify recently unveiled a “gold standard” exhibition, celebrating women who are “setting the standard” in hip hop.

More Details on Spotify’s “Gold Standard” Exhibition

Earlier this week, Spotify’s official account on TikTok shared a video on the platform, offering a glimpse of the exhibition. In the post’s caption, the company explained that the exhibition is an “art exhibition dedicated to the current golden age of women in hip-hop…”

Additionally, the caption states that the exhibition, which is being held in New York City, will open to the public on Wednesday, July 31.

Latto, Flo Milli, and Sexyy Red are apparently some of the first artists invited to visit the exhibition. On Thursday, August 1, Spotify shared scene through Instagram when they first saw a portrait of themselves.

“A scene from The Gold Standard Exhibition, featuring artistic portraits of women who set the standard for hip-hop music. Oh, and a few of the themes that were brought up,” The company’s Instagram post caption reads as follows.

Additionally, footage has been released showing each of the female rappers featured in the exhibit. Additionally, additional female MCs include Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, the City Girls, Ice Spice, GloRilla And Saweetie.

Social media users have shared their reactions to the female artists featured in Spotify’s exhibition Shade Room Comments. Many commented that it seemed that some female artists were absent from the exhibition.

The Internet Has A LOT TO SAY After Billboard Reveals THIS

Spotify isn’t the only company to have come under fire recently for its glorification of female rap music. Shade room As previously reported, in June, Billboard released its list of the ten “hottest female rappers right now.”

Nicki Minaj topped the list, followed by Sexyy Red, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat and Ice Spice.

Ultimately, the list prompted social media users to comment on the women included on the list and their rankings on Billboard’s charts.
