Group of 2 winners Persian Forces (Ire) (Mehmas {Ire}) is pointing to GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, Amo Racing’s Kia Joorabchian announced on Sunday. A G2 July S. winner at Newmarket in July, the foal has been placed in three Group 1 races in a row since – second in both the Phoenix S. at Curragh on August 6 and the Prix Morny at Deauville on Aug. 21 – and Tuesday at Middle Park S. in Newmarket on September 24.
“He’s going to go to the Breeders’ Cup and then we’ll make a decision,” said Joorabchian. “He’s going to the Juvenile Turf Sprint,” said Joorabchian. I think he has enough speed. Frankie [Dettori] ride him in Prix Morny and say he has a lot of speed and even when Rossa [Ryan] riding him in Middle Park, he says the speed is right there.
“He was unlucky, I think. This horse deserved to win Group 1, but he finished second in all of them and never really ran a bad race all year long. He did everything his father did [Mehmas] made plus much more. He’s both a soldier for us, unbelievable, he’s a great pony and never stops. “
