The Force Gurkha 5-door SUV scouted ahead of its launch date. Coupons sneak into the third row
Force Motors is planning to launch a 5-door version of its flagship Gurkha off-road SUV. The automaker has launched a four-seat facelift version of the SUV in 2021.
Force Motors is preparing to launch a 5-door version of the Gurkha off-road SUV. The automaker may officially offer a longer version of the Gurkha SUV later this year. It has been spotted several times on Indian road tests in camouflage. For the first time, spy footage has revealed what has changed inside the five-door Gurkha version. It gives a clear view of the third row that has been added to make room for more passengers.
The spy shots, shared on social media platforms, show that the third row of the new five-door Gurkha will have front-facing seats just behind the middle row of benches. The two seats are located separately and access to these seats is from the back door. It is not yet known whether Force will allow third-row access with split-center seats. Otherwise, little has changed when adding bench seats in the third row. Overall, the Gurkha will now be able to accommodate seven people at a time.
Aside from the addition of a third row of seats, there are no major changes on the new SUV. The interior and exterior of the SUV retains most of its shape and features.
Engine force launched the Gurkha three-door version in September 2021. The price of the off-road SUV starts from 14.10 lakh (old gallery). In the new generation, Gurkha has been upgraded with design and technology tweaks to compete Mahindra Thar SUV car.
Under the hood, the Force Gurkha 2021 comes with a 2.6-liter diesel engine, which was used to power the previous generation model. It is capable of producing a maximum power of 90 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm, similar to the power it provided in the previous model.
The new Gurkha comes with a refreshed design such as a new front grille flanked by circular bi-LED headlights and LED DRLs. It sits on a set of 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the Gurkha is equipped with new taillights as well as steps to access the luggage box mounted on the roof. The SUV is also equipped with a snorkel to give it 700mm of water wading capacity.
