The first ‘Super Pumped’ trailer is here to dramatize Uber’s reckless ascent

The rise of Uber could be hard to believe even if it were fictional, if it weren’t all the time chronicled by reports of overreach. The legal sale taxi business (may still misclassification a large number of drivers) believe a harmful substance boys club office culture, where there is only one way to go—including actively deceive the police – is standard. We believe some of that has changed.

Of all that can be said about the company under original CEO Travis Kalanick, it hasn’t faltered. Incidentally, that’s what tends to make for a good TV.

Based on book of the same title by New York Times reporter Mike Isaac, Super pump put Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Kalanick’s shoes, chronicling the taxi-hailing app on its relentless trajectory, towards (and I don’t think I’m spoiling anything here) it was a widespread success. widespread public backlash, and Kalanick’s eventual departure. Kyle Chandler seems poised to play venture capitalist Bill Gurley, while the trailer also teases an unusual appearance by Uma Thurman as Arianna Huffington.

The anthology series, which is set to include a different business leader in each season, is slated to premiere this February 27. So far there’s no sign of what companies will be introduced after this Uber drama, but there’s certainly no shortage of evil, hateful CEOs in the world.
