Each charge carries a different degree of punishment, and the jury will be asked to determine which charge would be most appropriate to continue, according to CNN. As of this writing, Alec and Hannah face prison sentences ranging from 18 months to 5 years, depending on the jury’s decision.

He is reminding us of how the law works, compiling his own statements and do-it-yourself videos. Those things could never help him. They can only hurt him, he said. “They can only be introduced to hurt him. That’s how proof code works. I think he’s starting to learn very quickly about the consequences of talking so loudly while under investigation.”
