The Type 075 amphibious assault ship has a full-length flight deck for helicopter operations and a flooded well deck for launching seaplanes and armored amphibious assault vehicles. The size and tonnage of the Yushen-class ships are estimated to be larger than most of their contemporaries, with the exception of the US Navy’s Wasp-class and the America-class.
The Type 075’s objective is to enhance its “vertical” amphibious assault capabilities in the mind of Taiwan’s mountainous east coast.
