Former The Bachelor star Laurina Fleure has admitted that she was terrified of motherhood after finding out she was expecting her first child with partner James Black.
The 38-year-old confessed she didn’t go through with her pregnancy after wondering if she would ever be responsible enough to raise a child.
She told the Herald Sun: “I didn’t think I was going to have children so at first there were a lot of tears and I was just scared.

‘I was wondering if I should take a look at it.’
Laurina added that her career, which she says is her ‘main priority’, has prompted her to rethink pregnancy.
The Melbourne native is the founder of Beauty Aqua, a beverage brand that sells carbonated water infused with vitamins, electrolytes and amino acids.
‘I borrowed all my mother’s money to [the business],’ she explained. ‘I thought, “How am I going to lift the boxes and do all that when I’m pregnant?”

Laurina, who has appeared on both The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise, also said she wouldn’t have children unless she was ‘crazy in love’.
In May, she announced that she was expecting her first child with partner James, 32, who runs her own landscaping business.

Shortly after the announcement, the reality TV star told the Herald Sun she was starting to believe that giving birth was not on my card.
“I was with James when I was going to freeze my eggs and I didn’t respond well to the hormones so I gave up and thought I would struggle to have a baby,” she said.
She also revealed that the couple are planning to get married soon.
Laurina rose to fame on Blake Garvey’s season of The Bachelor in 2014, before appearing on the first season of Bachelor in Paradise.

In 2018, Laurina made a brief return to television in the first season of Bachelor In Paradise.
She joined the Fiji-based reality show in episode two, but decided to drop it five episodes later because she couldn’t spark a romance with any of the contestants.
