The 27-year-old mother of two who used to drink 10 cups of coffee a day reveals how she lost 55 KILOS


A mother of two who has lost an incredible 55kg in just 15 months has shared her secret to success – and says shedding 700g a week is key.

Cicily Goodwin, 27, from Nambucca Heads, New South Wales, drinks 10 cups of coffee a day and regularly enjoys takeout from KFC before she hits 128kg.

But after joining the fitness community The Healthy Mummy and revamping her diet and workout routine, she’s watched her health and fitness change from the inside out.

“I lost 55kg by averaging 700g per week,” says Cicily.

‘Many people aim to gain 2kg but for me that doesn’t work. I decided to take a moderate and relaxed approach to weight loss and it worked. ‘

‘Let’s make it interesting! Don’t sabotage yourself trying to lose 2kg a week. 700g is the magic number! That’s still 36kg a year, who wouldn’t be happy with that? ‘

What is Cicily’s date on the plate?

BREAKFAST: Smoothies with fruits like mango and pineapple.

SNACK: Chocolate sesame seeds is good for health.

LUNCH: Smoothies or stuffed mushrooms.

SNACK: Healthy chocolate chip muffins.

DINNER: Healthy chicken parmigiana or some protein with veggies or salad.

Now, Cicily is the lightest person at 73kg since the age of 13.

She has had a toxic relationship with food for years and has always had trouble losing weight despite trying to diet countless times a year.

‘I don’t care if I eat healthy or not because it just doesn’t seem to matter. I think that’s where a big part of my health problems started,’ she told FEMAIL.

Cicily often drinks up to 10 cups of coffee a day, along with many takeout meals from KFC and McDonald’s.

“Even if it’s not garbage, I still pile my plate up high until it’s uncomfortably full,” she says.

In 2016, Cicily ran into the host of Australia’s The Healthy Mummy weight loss program when she was researching online weight loss methods.

She quickly started drinking the company’s smoothies twice a day and pairing them with healthy versions of her favorite meals including lasagne.

Within a few months, Cicily lost more than 20 kg without spending time going to the gym; she stuck with hour-long hikes when she had time.

“I’m not in a hurry, I still enjoy chocolate from time to time, but I cut out all soft drinks and follow the Healthy Mom meal plan,” she said.

Cicily says that while losing weight is hard, the hardest thing is losing the kilos.

“Maintaining weight loss is a completely different game because the natural response to weight loss is weight gain,” says Cicily.

“But I’m proud of myself because I’ve kept the same weight.”

For those looking to overhaul their health in 2022, Cicily has a simple checklist she swears by.

“This is something that I did during my 55kg loss to stay in perspective and keep pushing,” she says.

‘It is easy! Create your list and say to yourself “this is all I have to do today to reach my goal”. You may even feel motivated to do more. ‘

“People think you need to do drastic things to lose weight, but I find this approach a lot more practical and I can do all my exercises at home,” she says.

‘Now I’m normal and can do normal things and I’m very happy. It’s challenging at first but it’s worth it and if you get stuck you can just start over, doing the best you can when you can – and you won’t regret it. ‘
