I Bonds will likely pay around 6.4% interest starting November 1 if the consumer price index rises as economists expect 0.2% monthly and 8.1% annualized. Savers have been loaded into I Bonds when interest rates spiked to 9.62% in May, the highest rate since Bond I was introduced in 1998.
