As mentioned, Kayla is Angel Reese’s newest podcast guest. During the conversation, she admitted that the craziest thing she’s ever done in a relationship was disguise herself as the woman a man dumped her for. She said this is one of her “favorite crazy Kayla stories” because she has so few. Kayla clarified that she and the man were not dating but were spending time together when he suddenly abandoned her to pursue a “singer/actor.”
“So I was dating a guy and he dumped me over a text. And he left me for a famous singer/actress at that time. He abandoned me for her. Lie about it for months and then come out to her and it became public,” Kayla said.
Nicole added that the couple is known as “another iconic celebrity relationship,” which is basically couple goals. She said she was “devastated…heartbroken.” Additionally, she said she recently moved to New York City to be with the man and moved in with him. That same year, on Halloween, Kayla Nicole said she decided to dress up as the other woman. She claims she later went viral but the man was not impressed. Instead, Kayla said he called her “a crazy person.”
Teyana Taylor seemed to react to Kayla’s story

While social media had her and Kayla’s names trending on X (officially Twitter), Teyana Taylor took to Instagram Stories with a small video post. She shared a clip of Left Eye saying: “And everyone, get ready to do your math.”
For context, Iman Shumpert and Teyana reportedly started dating in 2013 but didn’t go public with their relationship on Instagram until 2014. They also made their red carpet debut as a couple that year at the BET Hip Hop Awards. They got engaged in 2015 and married the following year. However, in January 2023, Teyana Taylor discreetly filed for divorce. It became public later that year, and things between the couple became messy for several months until the divorce was finalized in June 2024.

Meanwhile, on her Instagram feed, Teyana shared a post about her upcoming projects, which include five films. Her caption said, “I know 2025 will hate seeing Taylor appear. Me: You have done a great thing. God: AND YES.”
Kayla Nicole reacts between trending and backlash

To reiterate what I said in the hour-long interview – learn from my mistakes. If you’ve watched the whole thing, you’ll know I don’t condone the crazy decision I made 10 YEARS ago. she wrote.
“I will continue to talk about my life experiences as I see fit with shame, because it is my story to tell. And if it helps just one woman avoid the hard lessons I learned, then my obstacles will not have been in vain,” Kayla added.
Teyana responded to Kayla clearing the air
Following Kayla’s clarifying comments, Taylor Enter the comments section of The Shade Room with a lengthy appeal. She later deleted this comment, but in it she talked about people’s reactions to her initial applause. She says, “it’s crazy” that people are allowed to “get upset” with her, but when she has “a little Sagittarius fun,” everyone gives up.
“As for Iman, I am divorced and happy, however her choice of words was very offensive and inappropriate. She knew exactly what she was doing. That woman who said ‘she was famous back then’ also said ‘no one saw’ which was annoying and unnecessary. The most important thing is that she knows people will dig. So automatically my name is attached to nonsense. At that point, she didn’t need to @ me, it was clearly a quick search,” Teyana wrote.
Furthermore, Taylor said she was trending on X before her initial confusing claps, and that’s how she peeped the supposed shade. Tey added that the facts and math in Kayla’s story don’t add up, but “the level of discomfort factor does.”
“She pulled the Black card when it came to Taylor Swift, but in that same circle, she turned around and tried to bully the Black woman who was married to her situation that she claimed was ‘ dump her’ for me. What’s the point of dressing like me? The craziest thing about all of this is that I actually showed love under her photo when she posted it. Just like I did with the 3736262626 other people who dressed up as me for Halloween. All that time I didn’t even know she was being shady. Now I do. so in that case wear small underwear. I had a little fun. I said what I said and now I’m done and back on set.”
