Textile Minister Piyush Goyal evaluates key projects of NIFT India

According to an official statement, Minister of Textiles, Trade and Industry Piyush Goyal conducted the review in the presence of Upendra Prasad Singh, secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Apparel.
The Minister urged NIFT to introduce combination courses and short courses and skills development to broaden the scope of activities.
National Survey of India, VisionXT Trends Insights and Forecast Lab, NIFT Design Incubator, Pratibha Digital Platform for Rural Businesses, Center of Excellence for Khadi, USTAAD and The Respositories – Textiles and Craft (RTC) project are some of the initiatives of the National Institute of Fashion Technology that have been reviewed recently.
Each NIFT student can accept one artist, he suggests, which will greatly help in diversifying products and improving quality and processes.
He also suggested exploring the possibility of combining some projects with existing similar ones.
