Terence Crawford: “I turned off Errol Spence

Via Craig Page: Terence Crawford said that he “Disabled” about fighting Errol Spence Jr after going empty-handed in an attempt to negotiate a fight with the undefeated three-belt uniform superstar.

While Crawford (38-0.29 KOs) will likely be interested in renewing talks with Spence, that will depend on the Texan native and his mentor Al Haymon from PBC.

As Crawford says, Spence made a cryptic comment about wanting the block circle to come back, which could be interpreted as a signal that he plans to restart negotiations with Terence soon. .

Currently, Spence (28-0.22 KOs) has been ordered by the WBC to defend against his required challenger Keith ‘One Time’ Thurmanand that fight is expected to come next.

Invincible 147 lb WBO champion Crawford will battle 6th place contender David Avanesyan next month in a BLK Prime pay-per-view match on December 10 at CHI Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

As of Wednesday, 9,500 ticket was said to have been sold for the event after almost a month. The capacity is 17,560 seats, so there’s a good chance it could sell out by December 10.

Crawford doesn’t care about the fight with Spence

“I turned off Errol Spence,” Terence Crawford told DAZN Boxing Show when asked if he was still interested in fighting Errol Spence Jr.

“The mission remains the same, giving fans the battles they want to see, but at the same time, I just want everything to be fairThat’s all I’m asking, and I feel that’s not fair.”

If the rumors are true that 35-year-old Crawford will be getting eight figures to voluntarily defend against Avanesyan, the fact that he won’t fight Spence shouldn’t be a big deal.

To make such money for how much is a hectic battle for Crawford, who needs Spence? We’ll have to see if BLK Prime is interested in staging another Crawford fight after he faces Avanesyan.

If Crawford remains at 147, he could attract a lot of interest if he enters a risky fight against Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis or Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Can Terence go up to 154?

“I don’t know, that’s not my main focus, it’s not something I’m worried about,” Crawford said of the possibility of turning 154 in search of better opportunities.

“As I said before, Avanesyan is my main focus; that’s who I’m focusing on; That’s my main priority. “

If Crawford advances to 154, he will have to wait for a title fight against undisputed middleweight champion Jermell Charlo, and possibly a year or more. Charlo was scheduled to have a mandatory Tim Tszyu defense during his WBO in January.

If Crawford goes the WBO route to take the title with Jermell, he’ll need to wait until 2024 at the earliest, and even then, there’s no telling if he’ll be hit. Jermell could vacate, leaving Crawford a useless belt in a barren division of big names.
