Tennis Hall of Famer Chris Evert reveals she has ovarian cancer
Tennis legend Chris Evert announced Friday that she has been diagnosed with early stage ovarian cancer.
Evert reveals diagnosis in a story written by friend and colleague Chris McKendry on the ESPN website. Evert works as an online agent for ESPN.
Evert, 67, said she had stage 1C ovarian cancer, which was discovered after a preventive hysterectomy. Cancer has yet to be detected elsewhere in her body, and she has begun the first of six rounds of chemotherapy.
