Telangana police on Sunday arrested Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Telangana, head of the Party (YSRTP), YS Sharmila for allegedly making inappropriate remarks towards Mahabubabad MLA and BRS leader Shankar Naik.
The police transferred her to Hyderbad to avoid any problem of law and order in the town of Mahabubabad. They have registered a case against her under section 504 of the Indian Penal Code [Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace] and section 3(1)r of the SC ST POA Act.
Speaking at a public meeting, YS Sharmila allegedly attacked Mahabubabad MLA for not fulfilling his promise and said: “You have promised people a lot of things that you have not fulfilled. keep your promise, that means you are a kojja [castrate]”, she said in a public meeting on Saturday.
Following the incident, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) organized a sit-in protest in the district against YS Sharmila for her allegedly derogatory remarks Mahabubabad MLA.
Protesters on the streets showed their outrage at the head of the YSTRP by chanting “Go Back Sharmila” and burning the party’s hoards and flexibilities.
