‘Ted Lasso’ Takes Best Comedy Series At The Critics Choice Awards


The sitcom catching fish took home four major prizes on Sunday at 27th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, a night dominated by streaming platforms. Apple TV+ Original Best Comedy beats other critically-acclaimed series like HBO Max’s Hacks and by Hulu There are only murders in the building. Jason Sudeikis, who plays the show’s eponymous character, won Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance in the show’s second season. Finally, Hannah Waddingham, the British actress and West End veteran who plays Lasso’s boss, Rebecca Walton, won Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Walton also won an Emmy for her performance on the series.

Tonight was a big win for Apple TV+, which also scored nominations for (Troy Kotsur won the award for best supporting actor in the film.) Ted Lasso scored the most awards this year of any nominated TV show.
