Mulheim was gray and wet on Sunday, but it still saw a sparkling performance in the opening game as Wanja Sören Oberhof and Sebastian Weiss’ 3-year-old pony Mr. Hollywood (Ire) (Iquitos {Ger}–Margie’s Music {Fr}, by Hurricane Run {Ire}) beat his peers in 16 debuts to become the newest German TDN’s rising star. Became the second winner of two runner-up in the first season for the brood Gestut Graditz, who won in a group of three, the half-brother coached by Henk Grewe with the backer. Last year’s G3 Derby-Trial Magical Beat (Ger) runner-up (Lope De Vega { Ire}) raced ahead after the 10-mile start at Pferdewetten.de Auftaktrennen. Ordered to return home, second favorites 5-2 set sail under Leon Wolff under test conditions to open up substantial profits before being eased near the tower.
“We are quite enthusiastic about him and I have the ideal position behind the lead with him always going well,” his rider said of the stallion’s first pony born and the one of five children from his first case. Grewe was keeping his feet on the ground when he added, “Going has definitely helped him and my horses have been very healthy. We’ll soon see how good he really is, for now we’ll just calm down and wait and see.”
The winner was the second pony to come out of the dam, which was listed in the famous Gestut Ammerland silk list and also featured a 2-year-old Waldgeist (GB) pony named Moosbeere (Ger). The second dam Margie’s World (Ger) (Spinning World) is also listed and akin to Margosto (Ger) is located at G2 Gerling-Preis (Acatenango {Ger}), while the fourth dam Our Little Margie (Mr. Majestic) comes in second in GI Spinaway S.
