NRL star Tom Burgess and his brothers are arguably one of Australia’s most famous athletes.
But Tom’s new wife, Tahlia Giumelli, was unaware of his glittering sports career when they first met more than four years ago.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, the 29-year-old model said she didn’t know about his popularity and didn’t even watch his matches when they were married.

“The first time I met Tom, I was living abroad, so I didn’t know,” she admitted.
‘I met Tom for who he is, not for what he’s done. And if to be honest, I still don’t know much about what he does,’ she continued.
‘When he was on the field, he knew I had definitely turned on Netflix and some takeaway Thai food.’

Tahlia and Tom married in a star ceremony in a waterfront park in Sydney’s Watsons Bay in January.
The sporadic rain didn’t dampen their spirits, with the bride blushing and her beautiful groom completely beaming throughout the ceremony.
Tahlia looked stunning in a sparkly white Prea James Bridal gown as she walked down the aisle to Tom.

The couple announced their engagement on New Year’s Eve 2019, after three years of dating.
They were forced to postpone their wedding several times and were forced to abandon plans to hold their most recent wedding in December after Tom contracted Covid-19 during a vacation in Byron Bay.
They have two children together; daughters Sophie, two years old, and Elodie, one year old.
