For the second year in a row, the Post-Breed Care Alliance (TAA) will be promoted to Woodbine RacetrackChild Aftercare Day on October 8, 2022. TAA will be recognized throughout race day, including the Modern Stock (G2) presentation.
The Toronto, Ontario-based racetrack invites patrons to support the After Thoroughbred Care Alliance for a race day that includes racing commitments, the TAA Best Horse Award and a showcase Nearctic Shares (G2). The day will culminate when Woodbine Entertainment Group presents a check in honor of TAA.
The Jockeys will have the opportunity to assign their earnings to the TAA for any races won on Saturday, October 8. The Thorough Coalition’s Best Spinning Horse Awards will be conducted along with the Jockeys. with five stake races on the card and generously sponsored by Josham Farms Limited.
Following the Nearctic Stakes (G2) run, TAA will be included in two presentations, first an overall presentation for winning connections, followed by a check presentation for TAA on behalf of Woodbine Entertainment Group.
Support for the After Thoroughbred Care Coalition is running deep among Canadian horse breeders. Woodbine Racetrack plays host to numerous coaches that support TAA throughout the race schedule, including Kevin Attard, Roger Attfield, Josie Carroll, John Charalambous, Catherine Day Phillips, Elizabeth Elder, Nick Gonzalez, Mike Keogh and Robert Landry. Whether in Canada, the US or beyond – trainers have the opportunity to pledge any percentage of their income to support TAA, 82 accredited organizations, 180 institutions and thousands of people purebred being cared for by them.
