A high-rise swing with many people including children on it crashed at a crowded fair on the Dussehra estate in Mohali, Punjab on Sunday, police said.
A video of the incident is going viral, where the swing can be seen spinning and slowly going up. It stopped at a height and continued to spin, but instead of descending slowly, the swing fell freely, injuring several people, including children. The incident happened around 9:15pm at Stage 8 in Mohali on Sunday.

Several people were seen thrown from their seats into the sky due to the impact and a loud noise caused them to panic.
Fair organizers had been allowed to hold the event until September 4, however, a noticeboard of the extension of the deadline was hung on the spot, which mentioned September 11th. is the deadline, an official said.
“What we know so far is that they have been allowed to hold the performance. However, no one will be forgiven if there is a mistake on their part. Strict action will be taken according to the law,” said Deputy Director. of Police Harsimran Singh Bal said.
About 10-15 people were injured and taken to a civilian hospital in Mohali.
A police official alleges that residents, instead of helping the injured, blamed officials for being late. The official added.
