Sweden Women’s 5 – 0 Portugal Women’s
Sweden brushed Portugal aside to continue their impeccable record of reaching the knockout stages at the European Championships with a 5-0 win at Leigh Sports Village.
Filippa Angeldal’s first-half double put Sweden, just one point to secure their place, in full control before Carole Costa’s own first-half net made the result beyond doubt.
Kosovare Asllani’s penalty added their fourth nine minutes into the second half, before Stina Blackstenius put ice on the cake in extra time.
Sweden will now face Italy, Belgium or Iceland in the quarterfinals, while Portugal are eliminated without a win at the tournament.
What’s next?
Sweden will return to Leigh Sports Village to face Iceland, Belgium or Italy in their third quarter-final on Friday.
