Suzuki registered a 21% increase in sales in January 2023
Suzuki Motorcycle India has started the new year on a positive note as the company saw a 21.2% growth in volume last month. The two-wheeler giant sold 84,966 units in January of this year, compared with 70,092 units sold in January 2022.
Domestic sales totaled 66,209 units in January while Suzuki reported exports of 18,757 units last month. Both numbers have seen incremental growth year on year. The two-wheeler giant also recorded a month-on-month spike in sales when it sold 63,912 units in December 2022.
Suzuki India’s two-wheeler sales are driven by strong demand for its scooters. The Suzuki Access 125 continues to lead the segment with Avenis and Burgman Street also contributing good numbers. The Suzuki Gixxer 155 product line also continues to be a product that attracts a large number of customers of the company.
Last month also saw Suzuki show off the Gixxer 250 flexible fuel-engine version at Auto Expo 2023. Although it’s still a while away, Suzuki is expected to roll out an updated lineup E20 in a few weeks. The company is also working on a new electrical product for India as part of its global product plan. It will be interesting to see if this is the long-forgotten Burgman Electric that has been spotted and tested several times.
