Super Superjack rule from Cesarewitch


Top club Godolphin Cesarewitch hopes Super Superjack was excluded from the £200,000 Newmarket handicap after being hit.

The Milton Harris-trained five-year-old has been valued between 9-1 and 12-1 for the October 8 competition but will not be rematched this season.

“Super Superjack has taken a step back and won’t run at Cesarewitch,” Harris said. “He’s finished the season and he’ll come back next year and go jump. He’s a good horse and excels at jumping hurdles.”

Named after Manchester City and England star Jack Grealish, the progressive player won the first two games of the season before narrowly failing in his last four.

In his final outing at the Ascot’s Shergar Cup, he was sixth as the favorite with 15-8 but was beaten only a quarter of the length. Super Superjack has an official rating of 86, having started the campaign above 70.
