When it comes to discussions about politics, they can sometimes get heated. Especially when it comes to the women of the hit ABC show ‘The View,’ You can guarantee everyone will talk about women’s opinions! Earlier today, Sunny Hostin got goosebumps after her comments while discussing Karine Jean-Pierre’s new role as Deputy White House press secretary.
As we previously reported, Karine will replace Jen Psaki, making her the first openly gay and the first Black woman to hold the position. When the hosts mentioned Jean, they discussed whether her participation in the role was a conflict of interest given her relationship with CNN reporter Suzanne Malveaux. Guest co-host Lindsey Granger said, “We have to be realistic about what happens when you’re in bed with someone and it’s your partner or best friend.”
That’s when there’s a sudden change in conversation. Sunny says the Black Republican Party is an “oxymoron.” Lindsey pointed to Sunny’s co-host Ana Navarro, Nicaraguan-American, saying, “You feel like it’s an oxymoron? Why? Your friend right here is a Republican. Sunny wasn’t worried at all and still stood her ground, replying that she didn’t understand them. She didn’t finish there. The journalist said she did not understand how black or Latino people could align with the Republican Party.
When the name Sunny became popular, many people shared their two cents on the subject, and you know Roommates have something to say! One person commented: “I understand what she is saying. However, neither side did much for us. I wish there was more exposure and support for independent parties.” Another roommate commented: “Truth. Rich Negroes forgot about their own people’s struggles and supported the opposition.” What is your opinion on Sunny’s comment? Drop a comment and let us know!
