India suffered a narrow loss to Bangladesh in the first ODI of a three-game series on Sunday. The last pair of Bangladeshi wickets Mehidy Hasan Miraj and Mustafizur Rahaman made an absolute heist with a thrilling 51-time matchup as India choked in the final half-hour to lose to a racquet-low opening ODI in Mirpur on Sunday. While India put on another poor batting performance that sent them into full swing with 186 out of 41.2 rounds, the pitchers did a fantastic job bringing Bangladesh down to 136 eat 9 in round 40.
However, KL Rahulwho was tasked with keeping fit with him and another veteran Shikhar Dhawan in the same XI, dropped a babysitter in the air from Miraj when Bangladesh still needed 32 runs. “When you are asked to chase less than four runs at a time. Just like Bangladesh is asked to chase, automatically the pressure goes down. Bangladesh has made it difficult for itself by playing extremely cautiously. That’s what got them in trouble. I think India not scoring 70-80 runs anymore is the reason they lost,” Gavaskar added.
