If you are between the ages of 40 and 74, you can have your cholesterol checked as part of the NHS Health Check.
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) recommends that all adults have their cholesterol checked at any age, even if they feel perfectly healthy. It should be repeated every 5 years – or more often if the test is abnormal.
A blood cholesterol test measures your total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, and total cholesterol to HDL ratio.
