Street Sense Colt races with ‘TDN Rising Star’ performance at Fair Grounds
first mission (c, 3, street feeling–Elude, by Medaglia d’Oro), a strong second at launch behind Brad Cox’s critically acclaimed stable friend, Bishops Bay (Uncle Mo) at the Fair Grounds on February 18, cashed in as a 1-5 favorite with a ‘TDN’s Rising Star’ performance on his two-legged debut in New Orleans on Saturday.
Struggling in the gate, the half-blood Godolphin rushed forward and swayed slightly shortly after starting. Flashing Dark Bay recovered well and tracked the position in the garden in second place. He scored a 2 1/2-minute lead from home and took the lead in the first half to win an impressive seven-length handball. Saint John (Spin hard).
The final time for 1 1/16 miles is 1:44.55.
The first mission becomes the 15th ‘Rising Star’ for street feeling. The first quest is done by the winner Medaglia d’Oro mare Elude, the daughter of the 3-year-old Argentine champion and MG1SW Forty Marchanta (Arg) (Roar).
