The action begins in the fifth round when Spark uses her physicality to pin Love to the ropes. Spark fired shots toward Love’s body, and then he went back up and caught Love with a large right hand to the head. Love hooked up with a few counter-attacks, but Spark was still able to end the round by pressing forward and landing with his right hand.

Nine seconds into the sixth round, both fighters rushed in at the same time, and they had a clash of heads that resulted in a cut on Love’s left eye. When Love went to the neutral corner to see the doctor, he admitted he couldn’t see, but he could still speak loudly. The doctor told Love that he would monitor him for a minute, and then the fight continued.

As the fight continued, Spark and Love aggressively charged at each other, and while they were in the middle of the ring, Spark unleashed a left-handed blow. For now, Montana Love (18-1-1, 9 KOs) is on record as the first to be disqualified, but his promoter Eddie Hearn is planning to appeal the decision on Monday. If the decision is successfully overturned then the duel between Love and Spark will be declared a contest without an opponent.
