“Rest assured, this is not a ‘air balloon animal and pirate sword’ – this is a high-art, full-scale hot air balloon sculpture,” he said.

Curry added that he is honored to be working for Channel Seven and has some interesting ideas about how he would spend his time on set.

“If I found Larry Emdur’s dressing room, I’d steal his curling wand and sell it for a high price,” he quipped.

The Astra Award winner rose to fame in 1997 as Dale Kerrigan in the classic Australian comedy The Castle.

He appeared in the headlines in 2020 after being drawn in in a fierce battle with the giants that grow on his family farm.

Stephen fought to save his property in western Victoria from 85-meter-high power lines.

“I think if The Castle teaches us anything it’s standing up for ourselves but it’s a one sided fight… that doesn’t mean it’s a battle not worth waging,” he told A Current Affair.

Curry said the farm ‘means everything’ to him and has been in the family since 1962.

Blow Up will begin filming in Melbourne in September.
