Thanasi Kokkinakis’ support for same-sex marriage has sparked speculations about him being gay. Australian tennis players Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios expressed their support for same-sex marriage when asked in an interview.
He, along with Nick, were asked about former greats Margaret Court’s comments in an interview in 2017 in which the Australian tennis player expressed their support for same-sex marriage.
The duo responded to questions about the Court’s anti-gay marriage views reported during their personal press conferences in 2017 following matches at the French Open.
Kokkinakis objected to Margaret saying that he supported same-sex marriage. On top of that, he’s pretty good friends with Casey Dellacqua, a lesbian who is in a relationship with her partner Amanda Judd.
“I have no problem with same-sex marriage, so that’s my position,” the Australian said. The fact that Kokkinakis supports gay marriage has caused public opinion to consume a lot of ink.
The support sparked many rumors about him being gay shortly after the interview. However, this tennis player did not respond to the rumors and the rumors later dissolved into smoke over time.
A lot of speculation about the athlete’s gender has been raised after he supported same-sex marriage. However, the exact sex of tennis players has not yet been drawn.
