Bet winner Get Western (Get Stormy – Marquetessa, by Marquetry) joined retirees at Old Friends in Georgetown, Kentucky. The 7-year-old won the Old Friends S. 2019 award at the Kentucky Downs for coach Charles LoPresti and owner Ward C. Pitfield. The “Win for Life” competition secured him a place in Old Friends after retiring from the race.
Finally moved to J. Reeve McGaughey’s barn, Get Western’s final race is at Turfway Park in February 2022.
He was transferred to the Secretarial Center, located at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, for retraining and retraining, but health problems prevented him from embarking on a second career.
He ended his racing career with four wins in 21 starts and a career income of $289,641.
