St Leger: Hoo Ya Mal joins George Boughey team ahead of Doncaster Classic and Melbourne Cup | Racing news

Cazoo Derby runner-up Hoo Ya Mal has joined George Boughey for a possible crack at St Leger before he departs for Australia later this year.
Formerly coached by Andrew Balding, he was acquired by New Relationships on the eve of Royal Ascot for a special sum of £1.2m.
He beat his odds of 150-1 at Epsom finishing just behind the Desert Crown at length and a half. Hoo Ya Mal will eventually join coach Gai Waterhouse, with the possibility of a Melbourne Cup.
But before the big move, Boughey was tasked with potentially leaning towards St Leger.
Boughey told SBK: “It’s exciting to have a horse like Hoo Ya Mal in the yard.
“His work is very good and we are looking at Gordon Stakes next before possibly leaning towards St Leger, before he heads to Australia with Gai Waterhouse for the Carnival there.”
