As a panelist at the G-STAR 2024 Korea game conference, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Naoki Hamaguchi talked about the airship being an important part of the movie. FFVII remake part 3. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The panel was titled “The Challenges of Creating a Timeless Game and Its Remake Project.” Due to the high expectations for the final part of FFVII remake trilogy, the developers can’t say much.
However, Hamaguchi said that, while Rebirth of FFVII gives a big map, when thinking about the original Final Fantasy VII then part 3 of the new remake trilogy will put the Highwind spaceship into effect. Because of the advent of hot air balloons, the director thought the world needed to be experienced from a higher perspective.
Additionally, Hamaguchi concluded the presentation with the following statement:
We will not cheat with the airship system (in FFVII remake part 3,) but face the challenge head-on so it can freely fly around the game map.
Back in April 2024, Ultimania reborn FFVII was released and it included some lyrics by Tetsuya Nomura revealing that Part 3 story is finished.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available on PlayStation 5. The exclusivity agreement expired on May 29, 2024so the game may appear on other platforms in the future such as Windows PC.
