Spring family fun in Kansas City – Women’s Health Associates


Well, spring is (finally!) here and though we’ll still get a few more storms or cold snaps before we can count on the warmth of a later spring, the outings and spots This fun, family-friendly ride will keep you from drowning in a long winter of gloom.

5 things families can do to make the most of spring in KC

Here are five of our staff favorites, many of which have become our own “Rite of Spring.”

1. Kansas Children’s Discovery Center

The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center is a hands-on children’s museum with 15,000 square feet of exhibits for your kids to enjoy, and there’s even a special space for babies and children. just know. 2. Brookside Annual Arts

What could be better than a quaint neighborhood that promotes the arts of artists and their art, with lots of free kids’ activities and outdoor music? Make sure you go to Brookside Annual Arts, which takes place on the first weekend of May. There is no need to pack much as local food vendors will also have stalls there.

3. Deanna Rose Children’s Farm

You can’t argue with the $5 entry price (kids 2 and under are free) and a place the whole family will enjoy. The Deanna Rose Children’s Camplocated right in Overland Park, open 9-5 daily from April to October. The park has a last century main street, historic school, petting zoo, fishing pond, cars ponies, tours, educational programs, etc. You can even throw your little one’s birthday party at the ranch if it falls during their opening season.

4. Kansas City Zoo

As the intro says, it’s “an experience you’ll never get!” Understood? Yes, we know it’s true! From birds to fish, mammals to amphibians, “Kansas City Zoo is home to more than 1,700 animals, representing more than 200 species.” New in 2023 will be the addition of an aquarium! They also have a daily schedule of activities for you and your family to attend, which will teach you even more about the amazing creatures that live at the zoo.

5. Ceramic coffee shop

The Pottery Café is a self-drawing pottery studio where kids and parents can unleash their creativity by painting a ceramic masterpiece. But the fun doesn’t end there! They also offer “Toddler time to walk” on Mondays and Thursdays and “Story time,” also on Mondays and you can host your child’s get-together birthday party there is good!
