Spotify’s Diwali Hub Now On Android, Combine Playlists With AR Rahman And More

Spotify has launched a new Diwali festival hub in India. Packed with features that can connect listeners with their favorite artists, the hub includes personalized clips and playlists that are tailored to different emotions, such as heartbreak. devotion or celebration. Announced last year, Spotify’s Blend feature also plays an important role, as you curate playlists shared with not only friends but with artists like AR Rahman and B Praak. Spotify’s new Diwali Hub will be rolling out to Android devices in the coming days.

No words when it comes iOS. In a statement to Utility 360Spotify said “Spotify Diwali Hub will launch in the coming days, with the experience now available on Android.”

“In the new app Diwali above experience Spotify not only about music, but also connecting listeners with each other through trending playlists and with their favorite artists through video and Blend content,” said Rahul Balyan, Head of Music India , Spotify, said in a blog post. “We hope that this experience becomes part of our listeners’ celebration this year.”

To celebrate this festival, Spotify is introducing two new playlists. Dubbed the “Daily Diwali,” this segment offers a daily refreshed list of festival-themed songs for you to explore. In addition, “Your Diwali 2022” is “made for you” and remains the same throughout the season.

Spotify’s new Diwali hub greets users with special greetings from beloved music artists, via an Instagram story-like dashboard. The lineup includes Amit Trivedi, Asees Kaur, B Praak, Darshan Raval, Devi Sri Prasad, GV Prakash and Karan Aujla. All congratulatory videos are designed to be shareable – however, at the time of writing, the redirect links appear to be broken.

Diwali themed Blend feature combines your favorite songs with composers’, – AR Rahman, B Praak and GV Prakash – to create a weird combo playlist. In a prepared statement, Rahman said: “This Diwali, with Blend, we have the opportunity to share music that inspires us or is repeated on our playlists. Not only that, fans can add their music to our playlists, and shared playlists are a lovely way for us to stay connected.”

Further down in Spotify’s Diwali hub, there’s a ‘Celebration Vibes’ section, divided into multiple categories based on language. For example, the ‘Diwali Bash’ widget leads to Hindi songs, ‘Diwali Party Hits’ into Punjabi, ‘Deepavali Kondattam’ into Tamil, etc. This trend also extends to the religious segment, wherein lists Diwali aartis and bhajans in several languages.
