Spider-Man 2 still on track in 2023 as developer explains why it’s been so bleak lately
Insomniac Games took to Twitter to clarify that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is still on track for a release next year.
First revealed as part of Last year’s PlayStation ShowcaseMarvel’s Spider-Man 2 hasn’t had much new information revealed about it since it was first announced. When it was revealed, a 2023 launch window was promised, we’re pretty close to where it is now and some fans say they’re worried it won’t work out. Insomniac responded to a fan yesterday, October 17, to quell those concerns, saying: “Don’t [worry]. We are making good progress and it is still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources and coordination. “
It’s impossible to fathom how hard it really is to develop the game, so it’s understandable that nothing has been shown since it was revealed. But it’s good to know that Insomniac is making good progress on the sequel.

Although it’s called Spider-Man 2, the upcoming PS5 title is the third entry in the series, a follow-up from Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales 2020. The sequel will feature both Peter and Miles in the series. as a pair of Spider-Man, and introduces fan-favorite villain Venom, voiced by horror icon Tony Todd.
Even so, Insomniac is clearly full of everything, as it is working on multiple Marvel properties. In the same PlayStation Showcase, it revealed Marvel’s Wolverine, an extremely popular Marvel character. Even less is known about the title, as the teaser trailer barely shows off anything and the game doesn’t currently have any sort of release window.
