Spence Vs. Crawford moves to February 4 in Las Vegas
Via Chris Williams: The big battle between Errol Spence Jr vs. Terence Crawford has now been moved to February 4 in Las Vegas. It’s not finalized yet, so a business date of February 4 is tentative.
The previous business day was November for the match between Spence and Crawford, but that date had to be rescheduled due to the slow pace of negotiations.
At some point, if the war is still not over in February. It would be smart if Spence continued and kept busy with his career because he would get old and expend energy trying to make this albatross a reality.
Dan Rafael reports that the Spence-Crawford match will be moved to February 4. Other than that, nothing is said about the progress of the negotiations.
We know Spence & Crawford have invested a lot of time trying to put this fight together, and they’re arguably better off fighting twice this year of negotiations.
According to related source: Date for #SpenceCrawford, if they complete the contract currently in the hands of Crawford, is February 4 in Las Vegas. IMO: It was a good day – the week before the Super Bowl there were no NFL games that weekend.

No wonder Spence bitterly complained today about Crawford’s “stagnant” (38-0.29 KOs), and he was bitter about missing the payday for the month. 11.
Taking too long into a fight that might not yield anywhere near pay-per-view purchases to make it worthwhile can be a huge disappointment for Spence, Crawford and especially especially the promoters who are giving out a flurry.
It would be interesting if the next scheduled date for the battle of Spence-Crawford is June or July next year. It would be funny if they were still willing to invest more time trying to put everything together at that point.
Crawford hasn’t fought since stopping former janitor Shawn Porter last November, and it was his only fight of the year. Before that, Crawford fought once in 2020, defeating Kell Brook who was defeated by Spence & Gennadiy Golovkin.
With Crawford inactive, it is difficult for him to attract his fan base to a large extent, which is why Spence wasted his time investing a significant part of his career trying to brand amount of a war.
Crawford won’t be able to help push the fight to any length because he’s the kind of guy who isn’t serious. Spence will have to market the fight himself, and he doesn’t have the personality to do so.
Spence should fight Keith Thurman because he can at least help market the fight with his top-notch verbal and behavioral skills.
