Spence looks exhausted, can Ugas win?

Via Matt Lieberman: Errol Spence Jr looked to have lost a lot of weight during Friday’s brainstorming match against Yordenis Ugas, and there were fans questioning whether the weight reduction might have been too much.

The question now is can Spence win? If IBF/WBC welterweight champion Spence (27-0.21 KOs) can’t push back overnight and doesn’t go into the fight without being as sluggish as he did in the previous fight, Ugas could win.

Spence-Ugas will fight this Saturday night on Showtime PPV from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

This is the fight Spence looks for after watching Ugas step in as a substitute to beat Manny Pacquiao last August after Errol injured his eye in the match.

Is Spence overtraining?

“A lot of us are tired of raising Errol Spence – Terence Crawford, this is a fight we want to see. Errol Spence vs. Terence Crawford, we still haven’t seen the fight,” Stephen A. Smith told ESPN.

“Are you tired of waiting for that fight?”

“That fight would have been if my retina hadn’t been detached and if I had fought Manny Pacquiao because I would have had another belt. [WBA] and Ring Magazine belts. Terence Crawford and I should have left,” said Errol Spence Jr.

Fans have been waiting for Spence and Crawford to fight for the past four years, and it seems like it’s taken too long. Crawford will turn 35 this year and he is starting to show signs of aging.

While some boxing fans believe Crawford is still in his prime, it’s pretty clear seeing how the Nebraska native grapples with janitors Shawn Porter and Egidijus Kavaliauskas that he’s on his way. down his career.

“It’s a fight that I’ll open after this one, but I have to get through Ugas,” Spence said. “I am 100% focused on Ugas. If I don’t get past Ugas, it won’t be a fight with Terence Crawford.

“But after this fight, it’s the fight I want and all the fans want. That’s for all belts, all marbles, and determine who is the super champion at 147 pounds and who is the best? ” Spence said.

“Do you believe that you are the best balancer, that you are the number 1 boxer in the world?” Smith told Spence.

“I know I’m the best in the world right now,” Errol said. “Not that I believe. I proved it in the ring every time I stepped in the ring. I was fired a long time ago, and every time I fought the highest level opponents.

“After my car accident, I came back and fought Danny Garcia. After an eye injury, I came back and fought a champion like Ugas,” Spence said.
