A South Carolina man has died after allegedly lighting fireworks over his head on July 4.

Based on Fox 35 OrlandoThe man died on Thursday. New York Post Office added that he had been identified as Allen Ray McGrew41.
Fox 35 Orlando McGrew’s wife, Paige, reportedly told authorities that they were enjoying a neighborhood party on the Fourth of July holiday and that her husband had been drinking “for hours.” At approximately 10:30 p.m., McGrew’s wife allegedly saw him “put a firework on his head.” The wife reportedly told authorities that her husband did it to “show off.”
The source also said McGrew had lit fireworks before carrying out the act, and they “exploded right above his head, causing serious head injuries.”
According to the source, July 4 was McGrew’s “favorite holiday.” His wife also noted that he died “doing what he loved.”

According to New York Post OfficePaige reportedly thought her husband was “joking”, along with other family members present.
“He had a firework in his top hat,” she is said to have explained. “I thought he was just showing off before he put it on the ground. I didn’t realize he had already lit it.”
Despite the tragic circumstances, Paige explained that she will remember her husband as a “patriot.” Furthermore, she explained that he was “living his best life” when he passed away.
She is said to have explained: “He works hard and plays hard too.”

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has advised consumers not to handle fireworks while intoxicated. Additionally, the commission advises consumers not to handle fireworks while they are burning or while waiting for them to burn.
