On Thursday, December 12, Soulja Boy jumped on board X (formerly Twitter) with a pitch for Elon Musk. ‘Crank Dat’ rapper suggests Tesla founder should intervene to save TikTok as it could be banned in the US

“Yo @elonmusk What do you think about buying TikTok? Or would running X and that platform be too difficult?” Soulja wrote.

Elon Musk has yet to respond to Soulja’s proposal, but his request has sparked some reactions from social media users.

Latest Verdict on TikTok & What’s Next?

According to TSR, the US Court of Appeals in DC blocked TikTok’s attempt to overturn a law targeting China-based parent company ByteDance. The law required TikTok to cut ties with ByteDance or face a US ban in mid-January. TikTok argued that the rule undermined its First Amendment rights, but the court don’t accept it. Now the video app and powerhouse ByteDance will take their fight to the Supreme Court, although it’s unclear whether the case will reach there. Meanwhile, TikTok spokesman Michael Hughes remains hopeful, saying the app will come out on top despite this loss.

“The Supreme Court has a long historical record of protecting Americans’ free speech rights, and we expect them to do just that on this important constitutional issue. Unfortunately, the TikTok ban was conceived and passed based on inaccurate, flawed and hypothetical information, resulting in complete censorship of the American people,” Hughes said in a statement .
