Time flies a bit fast in 2023, though that’s not all bad news as a new month means the addition of a new Game Pass. Microsoft announced the next four games rolling out to the service before March 3, along with atomic heart which released today. I was interested in Soviet tenacious shooter until I read James’s review and saw the main character yell “Crispy creature,” more than once – I thought I’d let it go.

- Merge & Earn (February 28)
- Soul Hackers 2 (February 28)
- F1 22 (March 2nd)
- Crouching Dragon: The Fall of the Dynasty (March 3)
This is the first time I’ve heard of Merge & Blade, not to be confused with Mount & Blade which is also on Game Pass. Merge & Blade is a combination of puzzle game and auto fighting game. The rounds will start with a Tetris-like mini-game, but instead of shapes, you’re guiding different types of units and merging them together. Then you use your finished team to raid castles and kill monsters. Mixing – or merging – Tetris into a new genre is a recipe for success, so I will definitely download the genre.
Developer Atlus bought three of their Persona games on Game Pass, and they’re continuing it with their online JRPG Hacker’s Soul 2. Despite releasing on all consoles and PCs – a rarity for Atlus – Souls Hackers 2 still seems to be on the radar. I’ve never touched the game, but turn-based combat always calls my name. Plus, it’s about a group of hackers defeating youkai in Japan. What’s not to love?
F1 22 is the latest racing sim to join the service, powered by EA Play. A car enthusiast, I’m not. Although, I’m sure this one is just as polished as the rest. Bonus points if the engine sounds like popcorn popping.
Crouching Dragon: Fall of Kingdom is the new big ‘First Day’ game. Team Ninja’s upcoming action game is set in a fantasy version of the Han Dynasty, complete with demon infestation. Ed played the first demo of the game and he was impressed with it. active fighting and giant pig man boss.
