BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said the speech of the former speaker of the National Assembly at the plenary session of her party in Nava Raipur reeked of despair and failed to realize why the opposition party’s appeal had become so limited.

“If the people in the country don’t vote for Parliament, then why should she blame the Electoral Commission,” the former Union minister said, adding that Sonia and her party were unwilling to admit it. “the obvious fact” that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, all sectors of society – be it Scheduled Actors, Scheduled Tribes, women or middle class – have received the fruits of development. He added that it happened because of honest management and delivery.
Agreeing with his views, the BJP’s chief spokesman, Anil Baluni, said the Parliament’s caucus symbolizes their “desperation, negativity and malice”. He said that the National Assembly has become the “dark spot” of the country while India has become the “bright spot” of the world under Mr. Modi’s leadership.
Mr Baluni added: “Continuous rejections of the people have pushed the opposition party into the depths of despair.
Prasad said people also recall the widespread corruption, crony capitalism and nepotism that under previous congresses brought the party to its present plight. “There was no honest introspection at the meeting of Congress,” he said. He said Sonia’s allegations were unwarranted and unwarranted. “What she alleges is completely baseless and completely reprehensible,” he added.
He noted that Parliament came to power in states such as Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh in elections overseen by the EC, and stated that the party would also lose power there.
