Ugh! Its Halloween! During October, HollywoodLife is active Sounds of Halloween, where some of your favorite masterpieces in music, film, television and pop culture choose the songs that should be on your Halloween 2022 playlist. Today, the haunting duo HOAXED provide a preview of their upcoming album, Two balls (launched on October 28 on Record Recordings), while also giving some gory love to the two Halloween icons.
“For us, Halloween is a sacred event that we look forward to all year round,” says Hoaxed HollywoodLife. Group, made up of Kat Glue (vocals / guitar) and Kim Coffell (blank), says this year’s All Hallow Festival will bring “a new tradition of reliving our youth at When We Were Young Fest in Las Vegas. The real horror would be looking in the mirror ourselves. We cannot wait any longer.”
Founded in 2020 in Portland, Oregon, Hoaxed drew inspiration from a variety of sources, delivering a vibrant and captivating multi-faceted sound. A red wedding of goth, metal, electronic, rock and other music, Hoaxed’s sound blazes with intensity like a tombstone illuminated by lightning. Costumes for two follow in the thunderous footsteps of groups like White stripes, Crying out of fear, long term debt, and other pairs from the Country of October – prove that you don’t need a lot of sound to make a louder than life sound.
Now, a year after the release of the EP of the same name, Hoaxed will be sharing their first LP – in time for Halloween. The group chooses a pair of classical songs for The sound of Halloween before the holidayalong with two samples of what we can expect when Two balls darken our doorways.

Annoying, “Sin”
Confusing: Sometimes what haunts us most is not the stories of fantastical creatures, but the real-life monsters that surround us every day. Who is really to blame in this world full of wandering demons and silent bystanders?
Hoaxed, “The Call”
This song is about voices from the dark calling you in the dead of night, and though you try your best to stay in the light of the fire, you can’t resist the call. Very spooky indeed.
Type O Negative, “Wolf Moon”
The intro to this song takes you back to the bloody glory days of ’80s horror cinema, and there’s nothing as scary as Halloween as blood, sex, and werewolves.
Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, “I Put a Spell on You”
Like a classic chilling Halloween song. The mating is so spooky and confident, Screamin’ Jay is a true master of the performance and this song perfectly showcases his excellence.
HollywoodLife: What’s your standout Halloween celebration?
In a previous band we did the Halloweekend tour and Kim played the drums on stage in No Face’s costume. Soul land. It was fun to see her drumming enthusiastically in such a cold and emotionless mask. It was a great tour!
What do you think is the most popular Halloween costume this year? What SHOULD be, in your mind?
Our favorite outfits are the unexpected and creative ones. With all the ’90s nostalgia floating around, we’re hoping to see some of our favorite icons make a comeback. We recommend your favorite Brendan Fraser character, Street Sharkor if you’re feeling crafty, a Bop-It!
Do you have any special traditions on October/Halloween?
For us, Halloween is a sacred event that we look forward to all year long. This year brings a new tradition of reliving our youth at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas. The real horror would be looking in the mirror ourselves. We cannot wait.
What horror movie would you star in if you had the budget and the freedom to do anything? You can remake any past movie or you can create your own.
We are mesmerized by the classic horror movies of the 80s and would love to star in any gratuitous death scene with unbelievable amounts of blood, fantasy prosthetics and decision making. absurdity.
What does October have in store for you – and the rest of the year?
Our debut full length album, Two balls, drops on October 28, 2022. We’re incredibly excited and proud to release our spooky songs during the haunting hours of Halloweekend. With themes like stalkers, witches, and the undead, this album fits the season perfectly.
