Some Pixel 6 users experience battery drain issues after updating to Android 13

It hasn’t been long since Google release Android 13 Update for Pixel smartphones. Android 13 promises to fix 150 or more problems with Pixel smartphones, but it may have introduced some as well. Many users have reported problems with RCS and wireless charging on Pixel 6 shortly after updating to Android 13. Additionally, some Pixel 6 users who updated to Android 13 are now reporting increased battery drain on their handsets.
Some Pixel 6 users are complaining about severe battery drain on Google’s support forums, while some are filing complaints on Twitter. One such post, marked as “trending issue”, highlights what has happened to the phone since the update.
As we understand, the update only affects battery life on Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Proas we did not find any complaints for other compatible Pixel smartphones.
According to user complaints, the battery drains quickly, lasting less than the expected time shown in the settings. Some complainers note that the battery drain is even increased in the idle situation. Meanwhile, users say they’ve tried killing background apps, switching from 90Hz to 60Hz, and even turning off the always-on display, but nothing seems to help.
Google has not acknowledged the issue so far. However, one forum member said that the company contacted them for more details and bug reports. So Google seems to be working on the problem and may fix it soon, but we don’t know how soon.
