Some Google Pixel users are getting Android 12 update instead of Android 13
Google is currently rolling out the stable version of Android 13 for eligible Pixel smartphones. So if you own a Pixel 4 or later, you can go to settings and check for the latest update. However, don’t be upset if you get the option to upgrade to Android 12 instead of Android 13. Some Pixel users on the internet have reported that instead of Android 13, they are getting the Android 12 update.
Some Pixel users above Twitter and Reddit are complaining about getting Android 12 update when they try to upgrade to Android 13. Some users report that they get Android 13 update for the first time, but when they download it after a few hours , they received the Android 12 update instead.
According to numerous tweets and threads on Reddit, users are receiving the 2.03 GB Android 12 update, keeping the same build and not changing a single thing.
Some users who encountered this error continued with the update, and according to them, the update reinstalled the old version of Android 12 again. However, some note that the Android 13 update comes after the Android 12 installation is complete, but that’s not the case for everyone facing this issue.
The problem seems to mainly affect Pixel 6 mass users, including the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a. However, some Pixel 4a and 5a users are also affected by this bug. This error doesn’t seem to be common, but a significant number of users are having trouble upgrading to Android 13.
