Recently Google At the I/O 2024 event, the company previewed Gemini-powered Contextual Smart Replies, which allows users to send detailed feedback without any hassle. Currently, this feature has started rolling out to Gmail users. These responses will work similarly to the smart responses introduced in 2017, however, with the integration of AI, the responses will be more detailed and personalized. Gmail contextual smart replies
Gmail’s contextual smart replies are an upgraded version of the smart replies we currently use. However, with the integration of Gemini AI, Gmail will be able to provide users with more contextual answers that are not only long but also relevant to the content of the email the user has received. After the official announcement in May, Google has finally made it public for Gmail users.
According to Google Blog parcelGmail’s contextual smart replies will provide users with response options based entirely on the email thread. Users can also preview and edit AI-generated responses before sending them. Google says, “Contextual Smart Replies provide more detailed feedback that fully captures the intent of your message.”

The new Gmail AI feature is now available in English. Additionally, only Google One AI Premium, Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, and Education Premium users can access Gmail Contextual Smart Replies.

In addition to contextual Smart Replies, Gmail includes several other AI-powered features that allow users to save time and improve productivity. These AI features include Smart Compose which suggests professional words, Help Me Write which can be used to compose emails from scratch, Tabbed Inbox which uses machine learning to organize emails, Email summaries, Q&A tools, etc
These advanced features make email drafting easy and allow users to be perfectionists because they don’t have to worry about professional jargon when drafting emails. Additionally, with email summaries, users can extract useful points in a nutshell so they don’t have to go through the entire message thread.
