Cadillac is preparing a slight update to the Escalade, judging by a camouflage prototype discovered in the wild.
The current generation of full-size luxury SUV, body-on-frame to the 2021 model year and will get a new one Escalade-V performance options for 2023. The exterior of the Escalade-V has been shown and is expected to be revealed on May 11.
We expect this updated Escalade to launch in the 2024 model year, which means it will likely launch later this year or early next year. The prototype suggested only minor tweaks, like a new grille and revised front fascia closer to the design of the Escalade-V. It is possible that the sporty version of the regular Escalade will receive some tweaks to mimic the Escalade-V with this update.

It’s not clear what’s going on in the powertrain department. Buyers now have two options to choose from: a 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 or a 277-hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6. Both powertrains offer consistent performance, though neither is what you’d call exciting. To create excitement, a supercharged V-8 is expected in the upcoming Escalade-V. Unit 668 horsepower from Cadillac’s CT5-V Blackwing is a good bet.
The latest Escalade has won over buyers with its unrivaled presence, sharp styling and an interior that takes a big step forward from the previous generation when it comes to sophistication but more of technology, so it’s not surprising. It’s natural to see Cadillac keeping things subtle with this up-to-date.
That’s not to say Cadillac doesn’t have big plans for the Escalade. There will also be an electric version built on General Motors’ new Ultium platform that will arrive sometime before the end of 2025, possibly Escalade IQ. The Ultium Platform, Launched in 2022 GMC Hummer EVcan provide a maximum range of nearly 400 miles in the Escalade.
