When you think of Old Navy, chances are you don’t associate the brand with casual wear (aka what you wear to dinner with friends or maybe to a bar if that’s the vibe). Most likely you think high quality denim or the basics. But hear me out: the brand has recently ramped up its production range of curve-hugging balls worthy of a special outing. Follow Old Navy sleeveless midi dress with fitted ($32, originally $35), for example, which I believe everyone needs in their summer wardrobe.
First, it comes in four colors: black, white, red-orange, and navy. I opted for the second medium sized one and hoped it would fit as beautifully as the brand’s highest rated one. Midi Cami knit dress ($30, originally $35), which I fell in love with last month. The main difference between the two? I’d say the halter top is a bit sexier due to the V-neck and open back. For that reason, I thought I’d wear the strap-on version exclusively with stylish sandals or heels and wear a more casual cami dress with sneakers or skates.
Beyond perfection *both* midi skirt fit, comfortable stretch is perhaps the most appealing aspect of all. By no means is the ribbed cotton knit feels like it’s sucked into your body and it’s also lightweight. Plus, these side slits help you stay cool when temperatures soar. My favorite thing about this dress is that it has a built-in bra for those days when you don’t feel like you’re wearing a “real” bra. While I can’t promise it provides enough support for everyone, it’s a personal game changer.
I know what you’re thinking: is it really that comfortable after a long night out? Well, after wearing it out to dinner and drinking, I don’t feel like I have to take it off as soon as I walk in the door (my shoes are another story, though). I’m calling it right now: you’ll love wearing this dress on special summer evenings to see how it looks. and feel. And you might even want it in the second color – I know I do.
