During today’s Disney & Marvel game showcase at Expo D23, we got to see the first game from Skydance New Media. While we don’t have a name or release date, we did receive a cinematic trailer from which we can attempt to extract information. The biggest news right at the gate is that this game stars Black Panther, Captain America, and two additional heroes.
This new triple-A game takes place during World War II. As the camera pans across a table covered with things like flyers about Paris and flyers about a jazz concert, it quickly turns to the sly people with things like daggers and guns. pistols, documents, Hydra insignia hat, and finally, Captain America’s iconic shield scratched by what appears to be claws.
This narrative-driven compositing game stars Captain America Steve Rogers, Black Panther Azzuri (T’Challa’s grandfather), American soldier and Howling Squad member Gabriel Jones, and the leader of the Network. The fledgling Wakandan spy network, Nanali. All four characters will be playable in different parts of the story. According to Skydance, players can expect “intuitive controls and thrilling second-to-second gameplay that captures the action and excitement of Marvel, inspired by the landmark comics, TV and movies.” as they navigate this brand new adventure.”
Skydance New Media is a three-A development arm of Skydance Media started by Amy Hennig, who is best known for her work as creative director and writer of the first three Uncharted games.
