Skoda becomes the latest brand to simplify its logo

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but car companies are all about simplifying things these days. The concept cars all have a minimalist design with a boxy shape, a stripped-down interior, and even a simplified logo. And follow in the footsteps of Nissan and VWSkoda has become the latest automaker to roll out a new visual identity.

Based on Autocar in the UK, Skoda will stop sticking its old badge on cars. Instead, from 2024 on, all new Skoda vehicles will carry a sign of the new word luxury, starting with The company’s new Skoda Superb and Skoda Kodiaq models. This will come with an updated logo, which will only be used “for digital and media purposes”. Based on Autocar:

The new logo is a flat 2D reinterpretation of the brand’s coat of arms. This is also the eighth generation of the company’s logo. Skoda also has lost the independent accent that traditionally sits above the ‘S’. Instead, it was incorporated into the design by the split at the beginning of the first letter.

Along with the unveiling of the concept car, Skoda also announced further investment in the electrification of its product line. This includes an additional €5.6 billion investment in e-mobility, which will help fund the release of three new electric vehicles “as early as 2026.”

By 2030, the brand says more than 70% of its sales in Europe will be all-electric models.
